Rare Beads

I couldn’t help myself in doing a bit of research on rare beads…my curiosity got the best of me. This is just some quick support for beads, and all the cultures that favored them, made them, wore them and traded them. Beads have been around!

Here is an ancient glass bead that is well over 1000 years old, possibly made in China and traded in Java. Apparently the blue and white spiral shape is also a rare design.

Extremely rare German marble beads from the 1800′s. The layered stripes are referred to as “onion skin.”

I love amber! These diamond shaped amber beads are over 1000 years old, and are found in Niger and Mauritania. They are apparently an imitation amber made in Germany from plant resin.

I could spend all day there!
